Random thoughts of a birdbrain

I now have a desk setup. Laptop, old games consoles and a big monitor screen. Luckily my old computer was worth something, so I traded it for cash to fund a desk and new monitor. hooray!

Cable management is crap and untidy, but my love insists the correct wiring system is used, so I need to wait a little while longer for tidy wires.

I could not find a desk chair that satisfies my grumpy frame so I have customised a old lady fireside chair with a rich green velvet cover, cushions and a cozy blanket.

It is even comfortable enough for writing.

Because of my health issues and living so close to the sea, I need to keep a dehumidifier and air purifier on for several hours a day. It certainly helps with allergies! Although my contact allergies still kick off because of mast cell activation late at night. Ah well.

My bedroom plants DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL! The only solution I can think of is to pot the ivy plants together in one medium shallow pot together so that they do not dry out so fast. Pothos is happy, snakeplant is happy, and jade plant is just doing their thing. Some changes need to occur to keep everyone happy over the winter.

I have been reading paper books today.

Finished Piranesi, The Cat who saved Books and now 100 or so pages into a Le Carre that I somehow have overlooked.

Set the CD player up, enjoyed a mix of bits and bobs. Sounds so much better than over bluetooth.

Hope to write some penpal letters tomorrow.

Deleted a facebook account that came with my phone, needed to set it up to messenger a family member my phone number and forgot to delete the account. Had a quick look at the site that I haven't used for over ten years and woooooahhhh it is nothing but awful AI images. AI generated posts are hilarious but they tend to fall into just a few small categories.

Jesus with female airhostesses in various strange scenarios and settings, small very fake looking child in a crocheted dress (I noticed at least 6 colourways), toilets and or baths full of alcoholic beverages ie a toilet full of Jack Daniels and then so many unbelievably elaborate cakes. Each and every one of those posts have several thousand likes and many comments. If the dead internet theory is to be believed.......yep the internet is now mostly bots talking to bots. A quick look at my now dead facebook account does nothing to dissuade any doubts I may hold about said theory.

I may track my book reading here, not sure yet what I am going to do really.

I like this cold June, it is delicious and calming.

Typing this as I listen to the Blue Jays game, ffs those boys really know how to let a team fill the bases and then shit the bed with a pitcher change. Not picking on Zachy but..........guhhhhh. And they sent Cavy to the Dodgers? Man deserves a playoff run, going to miss his stirring the air thing he does with his bat. Ah that's all.

Must say less noise is refreshing. Just a little cheapo netbook running Fedora Linux. Does everything I need.
